Jim and Diane McBeth served in pastoral ministry for over 20 years, in three BCOQ churches: Immanuel, Toronto; Inniswood, Barrie; and Harmony, in Hamilton. A short-term mission trip to Mozambique in 2001 helped them sense a strong call to serve in Africa in the areas of leadership training and community development.

Jim and Diane were appointed by Canadian Baptist Ministries in February of 2004 for service to Angola.

In 2009, Jim and Diane have been given an opportunity to serve in Bolivia, along side our other Partners In Missions, Hans and Graciela Ellen. Jim is serving as a Latin America Team Leader, Working with CBM Field Staff and our national Church partners in Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina and El Salvador. Diane is working for The Sharing Way with OBADES, the Bolivian Baptist Union’s development department, in areas of program design, monitoring and evaluation. She is working to ensure that the development programs are a part of the integral mission of the Bolivian Baptist Union and its Churches.

The McBeths have 5 children. The four grown children are continuing their education in Canada and the United States. The youngest child is with them in Bolivia.

Hans and Graciela Ellen serve the Lord in Graciela's homeland, Bolivia.

Hans was first appointed by Canadian Baptist Ministries as an agricultural missionary to Bolivia in 1978. There he met Graciela, who worked as a nurse in the Chapare Clinic. After their marriage in 1983, they came to Canada, where both of them took studies in cross-cultural ministries and Hans completed diplomas in Ministry and Christian Education.

The Ellens completed a 16 month missionary assignment to Kenya in 1987 and returned to Bolivia where they are involved in a variety of ministries, including, teaching bee-keeping, Small Farm Animals project, community children's ministry, health and nutrition education, Bolivian Baptist Women, church planting and an educational project focusing on abuse (alcohol, physical, sexual, spiritual and emotional) prevention.

They also partner with an Australian missionary couple in an orphanage ministry caring for approximately 30 children.

Hans and Graciela have two children.
